Our Approach

You'll always know where things stand

i

Plain language, always

No jargon. We explain everything clearly so the process never feels like something happening to you.

ii

A human touch

Legal decisions are made by people, not artificial intelligence, because the moment your family needs this document is not the moment to find out it doesn’t work.

iii

Tailored to your situation

We take the time to listen, ask the right questions, and build an approach around your goals.

YOUR SITUATION IS UNIQUE
Your legal plan should be, too
The Attorney

Ian Bertschausen, Esq.

Founder & Attorney

A California and Nevada attorney focusing on estate planning, probate, will and trust administration, and civil litigation. Ian earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Wagner College.

After years living and working across the country, he and his partner Kari landed in the Tahoe region, and it felt like home in a way no place had before. He's been here ever since, and handles every client matter personally because he finds the work genuinely meaningful.

A Donner Summit Difference

Every estate plan comes with a "Now What?" binder.

A practical, organized resource that puts everything your loved ones might need in an emergency in one place — financial accounts, insurance policies, important contacts, and more. It's the kind of thing people rarely think to prepare, and the kind of thing families are enormously grateful to have.
